A Review of Motorola Walkie Talkies |

My wife and I discovered that we have a problem when we transferred
from the Midwest to the east coast about two years ago. The problem was
that we had accumulated so much stuff during our five years in Nebraska
that we couldn’t fit it all in a U-haul and drag it halfway across the
country. There was also the added complexity of also getting our two
cars back east.
My wife suggested that one of us should drive a car,
and the other should drive the U-haul with the other car hitched to a
tow hookup on the back. I told her that we need to keep in touch with
each other on the trip in order for her plan to work well. As a result,
we purchased a set of Motorola walkie talkies to use on the road
between our vehicles.
The walkie talkies were meant to be a safety measure. We can use our walkie talkies to alert each other to what was going on if something happened to one of us. However, it turned out that we used our Motorola walkie talkies on the trip for more than simple safety purposes. We used them to entertain ourselves, amuse each other, and have conversations while driving through states that have no good radio stations.
We also used the Motorola walkie talkies to give status updates to each other. She told me about how the U-Haul looked from behind, and I told her about the temperature in the interior of my car. She would also alert me to a good song playing on the radio station she was listening to.
Sometimes she would also hold the walkie talkie up to the cat carrier to let the cat inside talk because we each had a cat in our vehicles with us. Driving a lot of miles across the United States, with only the cat in the carrier beside you as a companion, is a boring trip. We were really grateful to our Motorola walkie talkies for the entertainment it gave us during the long trip.
Our walkie talkies were never used again after the transfer was completed. In fact, I forgot all about them until I recently found them in the basement while preparing for a yard sale. I told me wife that we should keep them because we can still use them. They could come in handy for talking to each other in our four-story house when we’re both on different floors.
She told me that the Motorola walkie talkies are unnecessary because we already have an intercom system. As a result, I sold them at our yard sale for eight dollars. Those who looked at them had to listen to me rave about how great Motorola walkie talkies are for long trips.
